Christian Louboutin's fabulous red bottom sole began in the most interesting way. After designing a shoe and receiving a prototype, Louboutin was so disappointed with the shoe, but couldn't figure out why. His assistant was painting her nails red, and he proceeded to grab the polish and paint the bottom of the shoe. Welcome to the signature red bottom sole! Christian Louboutin has now ventured into the world of beauty with his signature polishes. In regards to bringing the spotlight back on beauty, he adds, "The red sole was born from red nail polish. I am giving back to nails what the shoe took from nails many years ago." The bottle of polish evokes the strikingly tall, spiky high heel.
